Reverb’s Green Cruises Set Sail With Mayer, Guster, and Barenaked

Reverb, the organization that greens the tours and operations of some of today’s hottest musicians, is hitting the high seas over the next couple weeks with John Mayer, Guster, Barenaked Ladies, and other hot bands. The two cruises, which are produced by Sixthman, will be sailing to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas with 6,000 music fans.

Thanks to organizations like Reverb, Sixthman, and Cali Bamboo, there will be a great deal of environmental awareness to go along with the groove of the live music. Cruisers can go from the Cali Bamboo Flip Cup Tourney with Guster to viewings and discussions of The 11th Hour and Everything’s Cool. There will also be the standard presentations from a myriad of green companies on how to reduce one’s footprint.

Of course, with Reverb on board you can expect almost every aspect of the cruising experience to have some ‘greening’; something that is not easy in terms of the amount of waste this industry produces year-to-year. In fact, they’re already finding it fairly difficult to ‘offset’ the emissions of these ships — with donations only reaching about 30-45% of their goal (which includes all flights, cars, etc. to attend the event). Even if you can’t jam on the ship with Mayer, Guster, or BNL — you can at least lend a hand. Check out the Reverb site for more information!
